Payment promises made by your clients give you a clear overview of future payments, so you can prioritize reminders for clients whose promises are already overdue.

In your Clearnox tool, you can add and modify payment promises linked to your invoices. You also have access to a payment promise tracking page, which gives you a good overview of upcoming, overdue and even already paid promises.

In this article, we'll look at how to create and modify payment promises. If you'd like to find out how to create promises for multiple entries, go to Add payment promises to multiple entries.

How to add a payment promise from the account balance?

You are in contact with your client who has promised to pay his invoice by a specific date.

    1. Search for the client and access the client page.

    2. In the client’s account balance, identify the invoice in question, and click on the "+" in the "Promises" column.

    3. A pop-up window opens with the details of the entry. Click on the "Add promise" button.

    4. The promise is added automatically: you can edit the amount and date of the promise and save it using the save icon at the end of the row.

If the client wishes to pay the invoice in multiple instalments, you can create several promises for the same invoice. Simply click on the "Add promise" button, edit the promise and save by clicking on the save icon.

You can now close the pop-up.

    5. You can view the promise created from the account balance. The color indicates the status of the current promises in progress. If the box is orange, at least one of the promises linked to the entry is overdue. If the box is blue, the promise(s) is/are upcoming.

How to add a payment promise from the payment promise tracking page?

Find and add your clients’ promises on the page Monitor > Promises.

  1. Use the filters at the top of the page to find a client or entry.

  2. In the table, click on the week corresponding to the payment date promised by the client. The exact dates are shown just below the week number.

  3. Click on "Add promise". The promise will be automatically saved if no changes are made.

You can customize the date and amount of the payment promise. By default, the date is set to the first day of the selected week.

Click on the save icon to save any changes. The payment promise has now been created and appears in the table.

To add payment promises on the Monitor > Promises page, you can use the "Add Promises" button at the top right of the page, search for a client/entry and then enter the amount and date of the promise.
